Barry Nove

Barry Nove has been a member of the Jewish Genealogy Society of New York and the Jewish Genealogy Society of Dayton. He has served the Jewish Community around the country for over twenty years as a director of development for two national Jewish nonprofits, the Jewish Publication Society and the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, as well as seven other Jewish Federations, where he served as executive director, development officer, and director of development and planned giving.

Barry Nove organized the first family re-enactment tour of Ellis Island in the mid-1990s, filmed by PBS as part of Ancestors, a miniseries broadcast in 1997. In 2014, Barry published The Ellis Island Experience: A Sampling of Stories and How You Can Research You Own, offering tips on researching Ellis Island connections and describing the experience of immigrants who came seeking better lives in a "Golden Land." Barry is the Executive Director of Oseh Shalom in Laurel, Maryland.
