The post to which Rev. Jaffe was appointed was probably more in the nature of Assistant Minister, as he was less than 19 years of age at the time. Furthermore, according to the Jewish Chronicle a year later (15 August 1941), reporting on the election of Rev. Elias Goodman, previously of the Southend and Westcliff Hebrew Congregation, as Minister, Reader, Shochet and Headmaster of the classes at St Anne's, it stated that "he will be assisted in the new post by the Rev A C Jaffe". ↵

The report incorrectly refers to Rev. Jaffe serving at Southport New Synagogue prior to serving at St Anne's Hebrew Congregation, whereas his service at the latter congregation preceded the former. Also, he was 31 years of age, not 29, as reported ↵

The date of death given in the report was incorrect. The correct date was 25 July 1999. ↵
