The Hub, Mountcliff House, 154 Brent St, London NW4 2DR, a three story building that was previously an office block, which also serves as GIFT’s warehouse and volunteering activities.(ii)

Formation:

Formed in 2024, the congregation was established by Jewish Futures at The Hub, a new community centre in Hendon, inaugurated in September 2024.(iii)

Affiliation:

Not apparently affiliated to any of the UK synagogue organisations, the congregation was established as an initiative of Jewish Futures. Jewish Futures is "a platform that connects multiple Jewish educational brands under one roof working from the same deeply ingrained core values."

Legal & Charitable Status:

Jewish Futures Trust Limited is a registered private company, limited by guarantee without share capital (company no.07884678), incorporated on 16 December 2011.(vi)

It is also a registered charity (no. 1151066), registered on 4 March 2013.(vii)

Local Government District:

Hendon, a residential suburb in Northwest London with a substantial Jewish minority, is in the London Borough of Barnet(viii) and was (until 1965) in the former Municipal Borough of Hendon (incorporated as a borough in 1932).

  • (viii) The London Borough of Barnet, an Outer London Borough within the Greater London administrative area, was created on 1 April 1965 upon the merger of the the Municipal Boroughs of Hendon and Finchley and Urban District of Friern Barnet (all of which had been in the former county of Middlesex) with the Urban Districts of Barnet and East Barnet (both of which had been part of the county of Hertfordshire).

  • (ix) The former Registration District was Hendon, from 1 July 1837 until 1 April 1999. All registers would now be held by the current register office.
