Both Lowenstein families came from Germany originally but supposedly from 2 different parts.
The Blach came from Germany and my great grandfather's autobiography says they came from Baden, Baden.
The Wolberg family came from Germany and Russia/Poland (I judge along the border.)
The Posnosky family came from hungary and Russia/Poland. (I judge along the border.)

Lowenstein-Blach

I know that the Lowenstein family is made up of 2 Lowenstein families. My great Grandmother Francis Lowenstien's maiden name was Lowenstein and her parents were Bertha and Solomon Lowenstein. Bertha was probably born in Germany but some records say she was born in Tennessee. Solomon was born in Germany.Francis' husband was Louis Lowenstein who was born in Germany. Together they had 7 children who lived to adulthood. One son, Julius Lowenstein, married Berdie Blach the daughter of Julius and Jane Blach who were immigrants from Germany and Julius Blach founded Blache's Department Store in Birmingham, Alabama. Berie and Julius had 5 children Julius,Louis,Sam, Frank and Jane. My Father was Frank and he married Mindel Wolberg.

Wolberg-Posnosky

I can trace the Wolberg family back to my great grandfather Solomon Wolberg (birth date 1858) and his wife was Rachel (birth date 1857). I think her maiden name was Wise. Rachel came from Germany
while Solomon came from Poland/Russia. They had 3 children Nathan, Freda and Alvin. Nathan was my grandfather and born in 1890. He married Sarah, called Sadie Posnosky. She was born in Philadephia in 1895 to Minnie Weise from Hungary and Jacob Posnosky from Russia/Poland. Nathan and Sadie had 2 daughter, Mindel and Phyllis. Mindel is my mother.
