The Richter family came to Ellis Island in the early 1900's from Libau, Russia also known as Liepaja in the district of Grobina, in the province of Courland in Latvia.

Most of this information was compiled from Ellis Island records. Some information was told by my mother, Anita (Platt aka Platzik)Deutschman.

Abraham (aka Abrahm)

Abraham, age 51, (born 1856)arrived in NY from Libau on July 5, 1907 on the ship Estonia. He was accompanied by:
Leie Richter, age 50, female, married, born 1857...believed to be Leah, a cousin
Minna Richter, age 13, female, single, born 1894...???
Ester Richter, age 18, female, single, born 1889...???

On May 26, 1913, Leib Richter, age 19, male, single, born 1894 arrived at Ellis Island on the ship Czar from Libau...believed to be Lou Richter who married Pauline and had 2 children, Albert and Shirley

A year later on May 7, 1914, Schachul Richter, age 43, male, married, born 1871 arrived on Ellis on the ship Czar from Libau...???

Hinda Feiga

Hinda, age 45, (born 1869) arrived in NY from Libau on July 29, 1914 on the ship Czar. She was traveling with:
Chaim Itzik Richter, 14y, Male, single, born 1900...believed to be Irving (moved to California)
Schaia Richter, 9y, male, single, born 1905...believed to be Sol, married Yetta and had Gerald and Michael; remarried Blanche after Yetta passed
Ischewed Richter, 8y, female, single, born 1906...believed to be Anna, married Louis Lazarus and had 2 children Arlene and Howard
Sara Richter, 17y, female, single, born 1896...my grandmother, Sarah married Charles Platzik and had 2 children Albert and Anita (my mom)
Rochel Richter, 13y, female, single, born 1901...believed to be Rose, married Harry Schneiderman (Englishman) and had Miriam, Pearl and David
Markus Richter, 79y, male, widowed, born 1835...Abrahm's father?????
