opole ul. chmielowicka 50/5 poland, 0048774570475 - I visited your page trying to find out more information about my father's family. My father Abraham Cutler was the son of Elka Bornstein and Ephraim Cutler, son of Charles Horowitz and his second wife Leah Luria. One of the Lurias was my father's great Uncle, George A. Luria, a physician who was born in Lithuania, educated in England and who lived in Johannesburg. Leah Luria was a descendent of a Rabbi Aaron Luria and also of the Vilna Gaon. Unfortunately nobody is alive who recalls our connection with the Vilna Gaon. If anybody is curious, I can provide a link to some pages of family history my father wrote in 1934 after questioning his parents.

- My grandfather is Aaron Kliatchko. He was originally from Russia??? or
is it Belarus ( I say Belarus because my mom's family say that he was raised
in Minsk, which is the capital city of what is now known as Belarus or
Byelorussia ) but migrated to the United States and worked for Asia Gulf and
Pacific. While working for that company, he was sent to the Philippines and
was the civil engineer for a few dams, one of them being the Angat Dam of the
province of Bulacan. There he met my grandmother, Victorina Cervantes, they
got married and raised ten children namely: Solomon, Leon, Pascual, Isaac,
Amelia, Sonia, Jacob, Rosa, Sarah and Rachel. Rachel, the youngest of the
ten, is my mom. I know that we have relatives from my grandfather's side from
different parts of the world that we haven't met. I know for a fact that a
Mr. Mark Kliatchko went to the Philippines for a conference and he tracked
down my mother's brothers and sisters and had a little gathering with the
rest of the family that still resides there. Some of them reside here in the
States. If you read this and know something about a certain Russian man named
Mr. Aaron Kliatchko, born on February 23, 1896 who fled his country and
resided in another, served with the Unites States Army during WWII, please
e-mail me back. I would appreciate any information there is. THANK YOU!!!

22061-000 Rio de Janeiro, RJ - Brasil, 55 21 2547-4146 - I too am researching my forebears. I have a rough family history written down by my grandfather Harold Rubinstein (1891 - 1975) just before his death. he traces our origins back to a Reuben Rubinstein (1686 - 1736) who lived in Moscow. His great grandson Rabi Joseph Reuben Rubinstein was smuggled out of Russia aged 12 to escape Tzarist oppression and ended up in Glasgow.
I had always thought that our branch had a connection with Lithuania or Latvia but I haven't located it yet.

did not find a connection. I am descended from I believe
Andrew Zak and Dorothy Fkacryr of Radlow, Poland, their son
(positive ID) Joseph Walter Zak 1870 or 1867 to 1918, came
from Radlow, Poland, emmigrated to US via Hamberg in 1892,
died in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Joseph and his
descendants are Catholic. If any of this ties in to
what you have, I came provide more detail.
Thanks for putting up the website.
