Hi, My name is Zeljko Muljević (Mulewicz) and I live in Pozega, Croatia... I'm a doctor (dentist) and last few years I'm spending some time to find out facts & details about my family tree... I've found facts about all generations of Muljevic lived in Pozega, from 1730. - till today... Interesting is that I found a facts about Heliodor Muliewicz who lived in Polland (Czestohova), married Olimpia Vetter, and had 3 children (Jadviga Mariana Muljewicz (1863), Sofia Tekla Muljewicz (1866) and Michael Muljewicz (1870)... I think that my family probabily came to Croatia from Polland... If someone could help me with my investigation, I would appreciate it...

This is TOTALLY fascinating. I have been an amateur genealogist for ten years now and have connected with Karpman families literally all over the world. But as of yet, I am still unable to connect my grandfather, Abraham Karpman (B.1880's in Narovlya, Minsk gobernya, Belarus (near Chernoble, D. 1959, Chicago, Illinois, USA) to any of theses. All I know is that his wife, my grandmother, Malka Schectman, came from Mozyr and they were married there in early 1900's. My facts may be fuzzy. I have volumes of info to share but no space here to do so. I do know he was a shoemaker when still in Russia. Can anyone help?

Hi. My name is Rachel Carpman, I live in Ann Arbor, MI, USA, and I'm almost 15. I know nothing about my father's family past the fact that his grandfather's name was Abraham, and he emigrated to America in 1902 or thereabouts. It's so odd to see people with my name on your website. The site is very interesting-- thank you.

Please be so kind as to put me in touch with the Zacharowicz family mentioned. My great-grandfather's name was Pinchus and my grandfather's name was Nathan. My grandfather was Israel Besserglick. Immigrated from Poland in the mid-1920's to NYC. Had three children, Louis Besserglick (deceased), Esther Besserglick Shaw (my mother in Brooklyn, NY) and David Besserglick (my uncle in Manhattan). All three children of Israel Besserglick immigrated to NYC with their mother in the late 1920's as children. My grandfather came first to earn enough money to send for the rest of his family. My parents and my uncles all had daughters.

He was taken prisoner by the Germans and was sent to work on a farm in Germany. He some how escaped and found his way to UK, where he joined the Polish forces fighting with the allies. Dear Sir/Madam, I came across your Website when I was looking up the name "Dokowski". It is my mother's maiden name. She was born in Tarczyn in 1928. Her parents moved to Tarczyn a few years earlier. The name "Dokowski" appears in Part 4 of your site " PART 4: **NEW** TARCZYN Business Directory 1925-1927 **NEW**". I think, one of the entries refers to the name of my grandfather and lists him as a pharmacist (aptekarz). I would like to take this opportunity to provide more details. My grandfather, Antoni Dokowski, was a doctor ( general practitioner - as we would call it today ). He moved to Tarczyn with his wife, Maria, from Warsaw and spent a few years there. Later on, about 1933-34, with their doughter, Barbara, they moved back to Warsaw where most of their family were living. I can remember my grandfather's stories about that times. I think, he and his family, spent a few happy years in Tarczyn. Congratulations on your Website. Kind regards.
