My grandfather Benjamin (Berel) Bronstein emigrated to Philadelphia ,Pa in December 1907. He came aboard the SS Caledonia thru Ellis Island. His family was killed in 1905 during a pogrom. His parents were Schmuel (Samuel) and Ruchel (Rachel) Bronstein. There were 5 boys & 2 daughters (Thema & Riva).The family dates back to 1817 in Elizavetgrad. The name was changed to Brown after he emigrated to the US. My GF (Benjamin Brown) married Emma Lamb (Baran) in 1914 & had two children Pearl (b. 1916 d.1962)& Albert (b. 7/1/1919 d.2001) | |
