Miriam Weiner Routes to Roots Collection: Beltsy Burial Records

Background

The following database was created by Miriam Weiner (for the Routes to Roots Foundation) and the source of the database is a 120-page listing of burials in the Beltsy Jewish cemetery. The list (created in 1990) is in the Russian language and was translated by Miriam Weiner.

The database includes the following information:

• Alphabetical list of names (last, first, patronymic) of burials
• birth-death dates (when available)
• Burial/tombstone number

We are grateful to Lev Shayovich Bondar, chief of the Jewish community of Beltsy, for his assistance and cooperation on this project.

Requests for Tombstone Photographs

If the researcher locates a name of interest and wishes to request a digital image of the tombstone, they may send a request to Mr. Bondar at aoe_beltsy@mail.ru and inquire about costs and payment procedure. It is recommended that you keep your inquiry brief and it is essential that you provide the following information (No. 2-4 are included in the database).

• Your full name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.
• Full name (last, first, middle) of the person of interest in the database
• Birth/death years
• Tombstone number
