Independent Horodoker Benevolent Aid Association

I ask the descendants of this Horodoker group to carefully respond to my conjecture that this particular Horodok is located west of Minsk in what is now known as Belarus. It uses the same cemetery as another Horodoker group listed in the YIVO catalog [Beth David, Elmont, NY] and some correspondents claim it as their own. The problem is that Gorodok-Horodok is a common village name as it means small village in Slavic languages of the Pale. There are six Gorodoks in "Where Once We Walked".

Again I warn the reader that I am loath to change the spelling of names to fit my preconceptions of the way a name should spell. Researchers will, I am sure, find the papers of this organization very interesting in spite of the sparsity of records.
