Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

2/17/2013 3:50 PM I would like to have a translation, please.
This could be a relative, but I would need to know what the document says, in order to assess the connection.

2/17/2013 3:50 PM We think this is a form of Marriage Certificate??

The name we think is Izrael Szlama Gutman (Great Grandfather) is how we think it is shown on this document - but we believe this to actually be Israel Sliama Gutman.

There seems to be a mix of Cyrillic and Latin words / letters meaning that this has not been easy to translate. Any help to confirm what the document is and what it says would be gratefully received.

2/17/2013 3:46 PM This is side one of a postcard written by Baruch J/Yegelwel of Abramowo que Dmitrowicze pow. Brzese (Brest) to his brother William (Velvel) J/Yegelwel in Brooklyn NY.

The second side of this postcard was posted in my submission, 25910. Following this is a resubmission of the second side, which is, hopefully, a better scan.

Please translate as directly as possible.
