I am not sure if this doc was translated before. If it was my apologies. Is this a marriage certificate? Please date all dates, names and town.
thank you

1/23/2022 12:13 PM I do not recall seeing this document before, although perhaps someone else translated it for you in the past. I hope that this is not the case, or I will be duplicating someone else’s efforts.

This is not a marriage document. A marriage document will have a paragraph ‘1’, for the groom’s information, and a paragraph ‘2’, for the bride’s information.

This is a birth record, and here is how to recognize this: If you look about 2/3 of the way down the page, you will see that the last word on one of the lines is the word ‘Vornamen’. I know that the ‘V’ is hard to recognize, but the rest of the letters are similar to English letters. The word “Vornamen” is a form of the word that means “first name”, and will be followed by the name of a baby. Thus: a birth record.

Here is the translation:

It is dated in Mogilno on Feb. 2, 1906. The birth was reported by the butcher David Gehr, residing in Mogilno, Jewish. The mother was his wife, Settchen Gehr, nee Simon, Jewish, residing with him.

The baby was born in their home on Jan. 31, 1906, at seven in the morning. It was a boy, and he was named Sigbert Alexius.

The document is signed by David Gehr and by the Registrar.
