Could this be Vienna? I think this is Miksa Weisz (my great uncle born 4 March 1882 in Budapest) with his 3rd wife Margit Friedmann (they were married and then divorced in Vienna 1924-1929). I am trying to trace Miksa after 1929. I have looked in death records in Vienna and Hungary, and some holocaust records but haven't found anything. Any ideas how I can possibly find a missing person? He was an electrical engineer/worker. Margit went to New York in October 1936 to join her sister and family.
Many thanks for any help, I have been looking on and off for a few years.

6/1/2020 12:01 AM Hello Emma,

While I don't have an answer for you, I do have a question. Was anyone from your Weisz family born/or lived in Miskolc, Hungary at about that period of time? If so, please let me know. Thanks...Jo
6/4/2020 4:49 PM Hi from Paris,
I have 3 questions :
. can you read brand of Mineral water and name of depot on billboard ?
. Vienna is on a river : when you look between piles of the pier, do you see the other bank ? or a distant horizon ?
. anything on the back of the picture ?
6/4/2020 8:29 PM fwiw, here's a picture which may or may not be related, of a floating swimming pool in vienna. it isn't the same, and it's significantly earlier, but it may lead to other clues.
6/6/2020 7:57 AM Hello from Germany,
I don't see a brand of the mineral water. If there is one, it is outside the upper border of the photograph. The picture could have been taken in Vienna. The owner's name of the "Mineralwasser-Depot" is TOMASICH, a common surname in Vienna. I think that behind the handrail there could be a phone number, perhaps 7?217 ??? A Vienna phone directory of the 1920s could probably help.
6/6/2020 8:29 AM There's a date on the photo, 7.28. July 1928
6/9/2020 7:48 AM I live in Vienna since 38 years. I would think that this is located on the Vienna Danube. I can see another bridge in the background. In those days there were a lot of areas to swim around the (old ) Danube, especially under the bridges.
First write a letter to Mrs Irma Wulz is in charge of the Jewish Matrikeln of all the Kronländer of the Austro Hungarian Empire. When she finds birth or and death records of Margit Friedmann you will know where she lived in Baden or Wien. With this information contact the
Austrian State Archives.
I was lucky to find the companies my Jewish relatives of mine in Vienna. You can write a letter to the Austrian State Archives but you need at least a Meldezettel (Registration of an address) of Margot Friedmann. I looked up on the online cemetery datas of the but there were a lot of Margot Friedman but not the one born 1891. Good luck and greetings from Vienna. Michel
