This card was sent to Marcus S. Schiff in Borysław by Reisel Schwartz, from Sanok, in Yiddish; date unclear but since it’s from Sanok, probably Sept. 1909 The picture, apparently from a colored etching, shows the Western Wall and is inscribed in German (Glückliches Neujahr; Klagemauer) and Hebrew. The text as transcribed in Roman letters reads: “Ich wunsche eich ein lustigen ksiva chseema tova. Eier [illegible] cousine Reisel Schwartz” (Cousin Reisel Schwartz sends Rosh Hashanah greetings). Corrections and missing words are requested.
