This is pages 2 and 3 of the letter previously posted. Found in my father's papers. A translation from the German would be appreciated.

2/20/2017 6:54 PM Have been awaiting an indication of the location of the other pages of the letter to be able to put it together fully for you but if you like I'll post my interpretation of these two pages separately; they are fully ready.

Einschicken tue ich dir den Brief nicht, weil ich 90% sicher bin dass ich ihn dann nie mehr wiedersehen werde. Dies soll kein Vorwurf sein, nur eine Feststellung von Tatsachen. Aber Waldi schreibt wirklich gar nichts besonderes in seinem Brief.

Schade dass du sofort nach den Prufungen nach Chicago fahren musst, sonst hattest du auf 1 Tag “Ferien” Machen konnen und mich hierher besuchen kommen konnen. New Haven ist nur etwas uber 1 h von New York entfernt und das ist sehr angenehm kuhl hier. Aber ich nehme an, dass du am 1. Juli deinen Job antreten wilst und dann keine Zeit fur “Ferien” hast. Ganz angenehm heiss muss es jetzt in Chicago sein! Wirst du eigentlich dort im Spital direct wohnen? Du hast mir namlich die Spitalsadresse angegeben.

Du kannst sicher sein dass ich nachsten Montag bin…

Not trying to make you feel bad. That’s just how things stand. But Waldi doesn’t write anything special in his letter.

Too bad that after your tests you must go to Chicago directly. Otherwise you could have made a one-day holiday of it. New Haven is only about an hour away from New York, and it is really very pleasantly cool here. But I accept that on July 1st you will start you job and you have to time for holidays. It must be quite nicely hot in Chicago now! Are you really going to live right at the hospital? You have given me just the hospital address.
