10/27/2010 11:07 PM It looks like a marriage agreement, most of it is in Aramaic.
Date: Thursday, 18 Iyar 5674 [14 May 1914]
Place: Warsaw

Man: The Rabbi Khayim may the lord bless him and give him life son of the Rabbi Flig may the lord bless him and give him life
Woman: Hena daughter of the Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Leib may the lord bless him and give him life

Witnesses: Moshe Yeshaya son of Mr. Binyamin Tsvi of blessed memory
Yehuda XXX son of Avraham XXX of blessed memory.

Comment: Khayim, his father and Henas' father are all three learned Rabbis.
10/28/2010 8:48 AM this is a kesuba (Jewish marriage contract)
the date is thursday the 18th day of iyar (lag Beomer) 5674 (may 14, 1914)
the chusens (Groom) name is reb chaim the son of reb falik
the kallahs (Bride) name is hena the daughter of reb avruhom yida lieb
the witnesses are
moshe yeshaya the son of binyumin tzvi
yehuda arya the son of ??? duvid shabsi
10/28/2010 9:13 AM The terms used for the groom, his father and the brides father is not plain 'Reb". "Reb" is used as an alternative to Mr. The witnesses fathers are are both referred to as "Reb"s - the equivalent of Mr.

However, the groom, his father and the bride's father are given the title of "Moreynu Ha-Rav" abbreviated to "MOH" - it means "our teacher the Rav". This is the title given to people who are learned in Jewish, law, they have passed the tests. A Rav, is not a Reb.
11/3/2010 8:15 AM I was wrong about "Moreinu Harav", so I want to correct this publicly. I have now learned that it is not proof of the persons being Rav's, and that Ketubot often contain very complimentary terms.
How MOH is used may vary by location.
11/26/2010 2:26 AM The bride's father was alive at the time of the marriage.
