Hello, would someone please transcribe the Hebrew to English? Aaron was born about 5 Jul 1884 in either Antopol, Kobrin, Grodno, Russian Empire OR near Antopol, Grodna, Wielkolskie, Poland. His father was called "Louis"(died in the old country) and his mother was "Chaja Liba" or "Ida" (widowed and remarried before 1896 to Mordicai Flamenbaum) . Aaron died 15 May 1936 and is buried in Mt Lebanon Cemetery. I am hoping to find any additional information that might reveal the father's real name to help find him in the old country and maybe identify which town the family was from (Aaron & his brothers wrote antopol, antepoli, grodna, grodno). Thank you, Helen

1/25/2023 3:26 PM The name here is almost identical to that on the tombstone that you posted, ViewMate number 101031: AHARON son of Eliezer Gedalyahu, and the date of death is the same: 22 Iyar 5696.

At the bottom is the abbreviation for "May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.".

In the circles on the right and left: The Soul of a Man.

==================================================
The only difference between this document and the tombstone is in the spelling of the second part of his father's name. On the tombstone, it reads Gedalyah, and here it reads Gedalyahu. These are two forms of the same name.

Looking more closely at the tombstone, there may be an apostrophe after Gedalyah. If so, this apostrophe would indicate that one or more letters have been omitted, so the gravestone might also read Gedalyahu.

By the way: I notice that you "closed" the Tombstone post extremely quickly. I would recommend keeping posts open in the future, at least for a few days. We helpers do sometimes make mistakes, and other helpers often correct them, but this is not possible if the post has been closed. (Posts are automatically archived after 7 days).
