1/25/2023 2:18 PM Here lies

the "Chaver" YITZCHAK son of Reb Moshe

He passed away 28 Sivan 5693

At the age of 58 years

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

===============================================
'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

The name of the deceased is preceded by the word "Chaver". The direct translation of Chaver is friend or comrade. In the German-Jewish community, Chaver was a title of honor that was bestowed, in a synagogue ceremony, upon a man who had served the Jewish community with distinction for many years. This title then became part of his official Hebrew name.
