He passed away 4 Tamuz 5699

================================================
'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

His father had a double Hebrew name. The first part, Tzvi, means deer. The second part, Yuda, is Hebrew for Judah. Normally, this name is spelled Yud-Hay-Vav-Daled-Hay. Here, the first Hay has been ommitted, and the name is spelled Yud-Vav-Daled-Hay.

The Yiddish word for deer is Hirsh. Therefore, SOME men with the Hebrew name Tzvi have a secular name similar in sound to Hirsh, such as Harry, Harold, etc. (Also, since the symbol of the tribe of Judah was a lion, SOME men with Yehudah as part of their name have a secular name related to lion, such as Leo, Leonard, etc.).
