Charles Press's book, The Light of Israel, the history of the Paarl Jewish Congregation. lists at least seven different Nankins and one or two family photos. Paarl is about 20 miles from Durbanville. Herman Nankin was one of the founders of the congregation in 1895. On SA sig website you will find a list of the Shtetls of origin of the Paarl community. I am an ex-Paarlite.

There was a Dr Rivlin who was involved in Jewish education in Cape Town in the late 50's or 60's. He subbed at the Paarl Talmud Torah and was my cheder teacher at some time. I remember a big man with silver rimmed glasses and a beard. I don't think he was older than his mid 40's at the most and was probably younger.
