Yisroel Avrohom Portugal

Yisroel Avrohom Portugal was born in 1925 in Skulyany. He was the Hasidic Tzadik from
the hereditary rabbinical family of the Skulyany rebbe Leyzer-Zise Portugal (at that time the rabbi of the town of Skulyany). The grandfather of the future rebbe, Isrul-Avrum, Portugal, after whom he was named, was also Skulyany Rabbi.
In 1960, he immigrated to the United States, settled in the Brooklyn, where his father led a new Hasidic court - the Sculian dynasty. After the death of his father in 1982, he became a new Skulyayn rebbe with a residence in Brooklyn Borough Park.
