Alex is the JewishGen Regional Coordinator for Germany and the webmaster for the German Research Division website.

Responsible for additions to the GerSIG Name Adoption List InDEX (NALDEX) and Gatermann microfilm indexing projects
GerSIG Discussion List Moderator Emeritus
John moderated the 30,000 messages to the GerSIG mailing list received starting in 1998 until the list was discontinued in March 2020.
Leadership Biographies
Alex Calzareth, JewishGen Director of Research for Germany
Alex Calzareth is a genealogist focusing on Southwest Germany, the Czech Republic and Southern Italy who began researching his family roots more than twenty-five years ago. In 2016 he became one of GerSIG's directors and joined the board of JGS Long Island. Alex serves as webmaster for both organizations. Professionally he is a CPA working in commercial real estate in New York City.
Roger Lustig, Project Guru
Roger Lustig is the son of German Jews. His father, Ernst Lustig (z''l), began compiling vital-records databases over 35 years ago. Working with GerSIG and JRI-Poland, Roger continues this effort. He has visited various European archives and has transcribed over 100,000 vital records.
He studied statistics in college and musicology in graduate school, and now works as a data-analysis consultant and also as a genealogist. His experiences with difficult data and old handwritten sources have assisted his work with Jewish records.
