This translation consists of names of people and places mentioned in this book. In many entries, the index text indicated that a name was that of a village. In many other cases it did not mention so, even though the name is that of a locality. When I recognized that an entry was likely that of a locality, I attempted to match it out with a listing I obtained from JewishGen's ShtetlLink of localities within 15 miles of Stanislawow, or with localities in the vicinity of Stanislawow from the National Geographic Atlas of the World. In many cases, I was able to match up the entry with a recognizable locality, and in others I was not. This translation does not differentiate between names of people and places, other than mention of the word village when the original Hebrew text did so.

In some cases, where the name was that of a person of general renown who is not related directly to Stanislawow, I footnoted the entry.
