Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

16920 Interpretation

10/10/2010 4:45 PM The Manifest for Ellis Island ship Zeeland in 1912 has my great grandfather on it. The city they claim he is from is Nicolasin, but if you look at this document over to the right where it shows the city it is so hard to read I think the person just wrote what they wanted and came up with Nicolasin. If anyone can read this and tell me what they think this may help me track his parents. Thank you for your time. View the post with its 2 responses
