20069 Interpretation

9/11/2011 5:40 PM On the document they note as their residence Leinzuk, Galizien. I know that in German Galizien was Galicia. However, I cannot find Leinzuk on any map of Galizien OR Galicia. I posted the 1880 Hamburg Passenger List document so that maybe someone could see if Leinzuk looked like Leinzuk on the document or has it been improperly read.I want to know where Leinzuk was located in Galizien/Galicia. Any help would be most appreciated. View the post with its 2 responses
19673 Translation - German

9/11/2011 5:38 PM Hello,
This is the marriage record for my GG Grandparents, who were married in Mielnica. They were married many years earlier and this probably represents a civil marriage.
I am requesting a repost in hopes of getting a translation of the words in the bride and grooms column,
David Moses Schuster, was he born or lived in Mielnica, next line is his occupation, shoemaker in Mielnica, then the address and parents names were what in Mielnica?
And the same type of thing for the bride, which seems more complicated.

Thanks again for any help offered.
Brian

20054 Interpretation

9/7/2011 5:09 PM I am seeking help interpreting the town name associated with this registry entry for Meyer Harrison. The second of the three names appears to be smudged, making its interpretation difficult. The town name, Rogowo, appears twice in WOWW, but is not in the JG Town Finder. This entry is from the Rosenbaum Bank registry and identifies Meyer Harrison as the person for whom a ticket to America was purchased. I am eager to learn the name of the referenced town and its location. With much appreciation, Randy View the post with its 3 responses

20048 Translation - German

9/7/2011 5:08 PM Please look at the underlined parts of entry 69. I read the groom's surname as GURY. Do you? Also, what does the underlined phrase following his surname say? I get ...something Landeskirche zu der er frueher gehoert hat ausgetreten. Can that be 'evangelische'? Do we have a convert to Judaism here?

Thanks!
