7/1/2014 1:56 AM Wow, how exciting to see the birth record of I.L. Peretz, the Yiddish writer!

OK, from what I can make out:

Registered 26th of May, 1852, in Zamosc. Reported by Judko (= Juda, Yehuda) Peretz, merchant, of the town of Lubartow, age 27,in Zamosc. I think it says something about him carrying an internal passport (which he would have needed for travel between towns) but my Polish is not good enough to understand the exact words. Witnesses Szyja (Shaya) Rajnorsal?, merchant, age 60, and Lejb (Leib) Konig, market stall keeper, age 58. Born in Zamosc on the 18th of the current month and year to his (Judko's) wife Rywki nee Lawinow?, age 24, a male child by the name Icek (= Itzhak) Lejb. The father's and the witnesses' names are written (not signed) at the bottom.

That is quite a piece of history!

Icko Perec (writer's father) was from Lubartow, temporary located in Zamosc.

Writer's mother name is Rywka Lewin (Rywka z Lewinow)
