May be someone can recognize the kind of military or police attire that my uncle, Schmulek Fraimowicz (or Froimowicz, Froimowitz, Turner) was wearing in this picture?
Apparently the photo was taken during the nazi retreat from Russia and Poland in the 1944-45's winter, when Schmuleck was part of some kind of auxiliary force.
I also have grupal pictures of many middle-aged men in those same attires (included a cousin of ours), all them seems jews. Schmuleck was from Wloczszowa, Kielce Province in Poland and lived sometime in Lodz. He ran away to the USSR after the nazi invasion of 1939. TIA
