This the back of a photo taken in Rahovo (Subcarpathia, Czechoslovakia in 1927). This place is now Rakhiv in Ukraine.

The front side represents a boy approximately 3 years old. I believe the caption at the back is written in Hungarian.

I would like to know what is written.

Thank you for your help.

9/11/2013 7:39 PM Hello Isidore,

Yes, this is written in Hungarian. It states and is followed by the translation:

"Apukanak szeretettel kuldve fiadtol, Alexander Friedmann. 1927 20/XII, Rahova".

"To Dad/Daddy, sent with love from your son Alexander Friedmann. Dated December 20, 1927 in Rahova".

Just an added note. It is interesting how the parents always wrote the note on behalf of the child. You mention that the child was only 3 years old, so it is clear that some (responsible) adult made sure that the notation was there for the father, the family and (fortunately) for future generations.....Jo
