This is a letter written on October 10, 1947, by my grandfather's brother, Moshe Lelonek while living in the Lampertheim DP Camp in Germany after the Holocaust. He is writing to the Sierpc Relief Committee in NY. A close translation would be greatly appreciated.

2/18/2014 3:37 PM Dear esteemed Sierpc fellow-townsfolk,

As I don't want to lose touch with you, I'm taking a little time to write you a few words. We are all well, even though life is very hard. After all, we carry on. A few days ago, I received a package from you. We thank you very much for your assistance to us, as well as for not forgetting us. It goes without saying that the package will be very useful to us, because this is our only help. I've written to you several times, but have received no answer from you. I don't know why this is the case, and it is very surprising, but maybe it's not your fault. In our life now and the situation we find ourselves in, even a few words from good friends are encouraging. We hope that we will soon get to a permanent place, and all our troubles will be ended.

Though you don't know them, my family, wife and child, send their regards to you. We send heartfelt greetings to all the Sierpc compatriots.

From me, Moyshe Lelonek.
