This postcard was written by Jacob Isak Sicherman, a soldier in the Austro-Hungarian army, to his wife c/o her father, in Borysław, Poland. The picture (not submitted to JewishGen), on which JIS has written “1914” and “1916,” shows the “battle of Dunajec, victorious attacks by the Hungarian Honved Hussars” (caption in German and Hungarian), presumably referring to a famous battle in May 1915.
