On  Response
9/27/2010 8:25 AM Here lies the dear Mrs Rachel, spouse of His Honour the Rav Rabbi Abraham STEIN, "Shaliakh-Tsibbur" (the man who conducts the prayers at the synagogue, means "delegate of the community") and "Moreh-Tsedeq" (means "spiritual guide") of here. Died on the eve of the Holy Sabbath, 27 Tamuz 645, according to the little count (= Fri 10 Jul 1885).

Like on every tombstone you sent, the big letters at the bottom are an abbreviation for "Let his (or her) soul be bound n the bunle of life"; quoted from the Bible, 1 Samuel 25:29 : Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my master will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the LORD your God. But the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling. .

All the best.
