According to our By Laws, terms for Directors are three years, so one third of our nine-person Board of Directors is up for election each year. This is meant to provide both turnover, bringing people with new ideas into leadership positions, and continuity - with the majority of Directors continuing to serve.
This year two directors sought reelection (Howard Margol and Dorothy Leivers) and along with Ann Rabinowitz were nominated by the Nominating Task Force. No individuals chose to "self nominate" (in lieu of nominations from the floor) and add their names to the ballot.
More than three times the minimum votes required for a quorum voted electronically and in person at the Philadelphia Conference LitvakSIG meeting on August 5, 2009. All three candidates were overwhelmingly elected.
