The Old Wooden Shule in Shkudvil - Circa 1918
(Later used as the cheder)
Researched by Henry Propp

The LitvakSIG Online Journal is an
online journal of original articles
concerning topics of interest to researchers of Litvak genealogy. The intent of the journal is to speed up the communication between Litvak researchers of new and important information, which should be shared immediately, rather than months later as in traditional hardcopy journals.

The LitvakSIG Online Journal is not a replacement for hardcopy genealogical journals and, in fact, the material first published on the Internet may be later published in traditional hardcopy format. An Editorial Committee will review and select articles. A basic guideline is that they will be more substantive (in length and quality) than postings to the Digest. Articles will be available for reading in the LitvakSIG Online Journal on the LitvakSIG website for several months, and then archived.

General guidelines:

We are interested in articles which are of broad interest to members of the LitvakSIG. Please refer to the LitvakSIG Goals and Objectives on our website for more details. We are particularly interested in articles which increase our understanding of the historical, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual forces, which affected the lives of our ancestors, particularly during the seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

A variety of articles are sought
. Feel free to consult with the editors before writing articles.

Please e-mail contributions in plain text (.txt) or Word document (.doc) format to the Online Journal Editor, Judith Caplan.
