Donations are allocated for the acquisition of data and the databases are then published online in the JewishGen Latvia Database. You will receive an acknowledgement and feedback on the use of your donation.

The SIG has already made a tremendous contribution to the JewishGen Latvia Database with such large databases as the Riga Tax Registration database 1858-1917 and the Riga Inhabitants 1885/86 database-among others. (see the JewishGen Latvia Database)

These wonderful acquisitions which are of such benefit to all Latvian researchers have to be paid for and your donation will be greatly appreciated.

The data acquisition is ongoing and we hope to cover a wide range of places in Latvia as well as acquiring more Trade and Telephone Directories.

The new database initiatives are described under What's New.

It is also possible to donate through the JewishGen site by going to:
www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen-erosity/ and selecting Latvia. This method does demand that the donation is allocated to a specific project, so please specify that it is for General Acquisition of Data.
