the JRI-Poland Listserv. Dear researchers, I wish to update you on the status of the Warka CO-OP whose project should be of interest to all researchers of the GROJEC district area. Warka is situated only a few miles away from Grojec, Bialobrzegi and Gora-Kalwaria. The Toronto copying center has just sent me photocopies of the Warka indexes for the years: 723,679 for 1855-59 in Polish We are now going to start the project of keying the material. So far our team is very small and we would appreciate it if you would consider the following options of volunteering into the project: 1. Keying indexes into the Jewish Records Index - Poland project. You will receive a limited amount of material on paper copies; there is no need for previous knowledge in Polish, only a keen eye, common sense and enthusiasm. 2. Making a financial contribution to the project. We need to pay for copying and mail. The primary cost for copying is $30 per film. So far we have spent $90.- on the project. We will need to copy another 2 microfilms in Russian and unless we find a volunteer to read the indexes in Cyrillic we will have to pay for translation. Please let me know if you could join us and contribute to the Warka CO-OP project. Nathalie Wajzer Klein |
