Helping the JRI-Poland Database Grow

What volunteer help does the JRI-Poland project need ?
How can I send a financial contribution to the JRI-Poland Project ?

Q:  What volunteer help does the JRI-Poland project need ?

A:  JRI-Poland needs volunteers to help with the data entry of indices from the LDS microfilm collection. Donations are needed to finance the "Polish State Archives Project," the project to transcribe the indexes in the Polish State Archives, but not microfilmed by the Mormons during their microfilming project.

Photocopying and postage charges are incurred for the index pages of each town. Many Shtetl CO-OPs are funded by a small group of volunteers. But, the sheer size of the projects for some of the larger towns and cities necessitates outside donations.

In addition, donations are needed to cover the costs of hiring the professional translators who work in the years for which records were written in Russian. We have a shortage of qualified volunteers who can work with the post-1867 Russian-language records, and this translation work is especially valuable to propelling the research of genealogists worldwide.
