INVENTORY OF LDS MICROFILMS
OF JEWISH VITAL RECORDS FROM
CENTRAL STATE HISTORICAL ARCHIVES OF UKRAINE IN LVIV
JRI-Poland and Gesher Galicia have embarked on a project to provide the most accurate inventory of the LDS films of the Jewish vital records from the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv. The inventories presented here have been created and updated by volunteers who have viewed the films and we believe these are the most accurate inventories available.
The table below contains the list of microfilms with Jewish records filmed by the LDS Family History Library at Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv. These films may be ordered at any one of the thousands of local Family History Centers worldwide. Click here to find a Family History Center. This group of films is entitled "Metrical Books, 1820-1939, Jewish Congregation, L'viv." The Family History Library Catalog states: "This is a preliminary description provided to allow immediate microfilm access." Searching the Family History Library Catalog by Place will NOT find the places and films below. You must search for "L'viv" as the Place or search by Film/Fiche using one of the Film Numbers shown below.
This table was initially developed using private information and information from the Family History Library Catalog, but has now been updated with inventories developed by volunteers. Towns where inventories have been completed are highlighted in green in the table below.
Neither JRI-Poland nor Gesher Galicia has not reviewed the films or the privately performed inventories. A more detailed inventory showing corrections to the LDS Inventories by Jewish Genealogists who have viewed these films can be accessed by clicking here. Corrections to the inventory resulting from viewing of a film should be reported to Mark Halpern.
