History of the Sephardic Jews of Central New Jersey

 

The first Jews in America were of Spanish origin and came with Columbus in 1492.  In the early days of the U.S., most of America's Jews were of Sephardic origin.  The Jewish population of Central New Jersey reflected this general pattern.  Dr. Reiss discusses the origin of the Sephardic Jews of Central New Jersey and shows photos and documents that trace their experience here.
