Anarchists Among Us -- The Ferrer Colony and Modern School of Stelton, N.J.

The Ferrer Colony and Modern School was a utopian colony that existed from about 1912-53 near the community of Stelton in what is now Piscataway Township, NJ. Although it was not specifically a Jewish organization, about three-quarters of its members were Jews of Eastern European origin. In this illustrated lecture, Dr. Reiss will discuss the origins of the colony and school, the philosophies on which it was based, and its turbulent history.
