Yizkor books are memorials to Jewish communities (shtetls) in central and eastern Europe destroyed in the Holocaust. Former residents describe the communities and give their memories of the people who lived there just before and during the Holocaust.
The JewishGen Yizkor Project has been compiling where to find Yizkor books, people who are interested in them, libraries that have them, etc. While the JGSGP collection, housed in the Tuttleman Library of Gratz College, does not contain Yizkor books as yet, the Tuttleman Library does have a significant number of these memorial books, most of which are printed in Hebrew or Yiddish. Alan Remstein, JGSGP Librarian, has compiled the list of these Yizkor books as shown below.
