Welcome to Chronicles, the award winning journal of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Philadelphia. 

The 2005 IAJGS Award for Outstanding Publication by an (International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) member Society was presented to the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Philadelphia. The Outstanding Publication Award is presented to an IAJGS Member Organization in recognition of an outstanding journal, newsletter, or other publication that furthers Jewish genealogical research.

The placque recognizing Chronicles stated:

Recognizing the excellence of Chronicles, its quarterly journal. With over two-thirds of its content original and authored by members, it is truly a publication by members for members. Its editorial philosophy stresses variety, combining Jewish history, culture, family stories and research techniques. Effective editing and graphic design add to the overall impact that it has made in the genealogical community scores of people remain remote members primarily to receive this fine publication. The award was accepted by Mark Halpern, society president.

Chronicles is distributed quarterly and is free to all JGSGP members. Back issues are available at $4.00 per issue.

Articles are accepted for publication at the discretion of the Editor of the newsletter. In addition, articles will be edited, when appropriate, for purposes of clarity and space. The deadlines for submitting articles are the 15th of September, December, March, and June or as communicated by the Editor. These articles should describe research methods, stories of personal experience, news that affects genealogical researchers and resources, book reviews and letters. Articles may be sent by regular mail  to JGSGP, PO Box 335, Exton, PA 19341 or e-mail to jgsgp@comcast.net. We prefer that articles and associated photos and images be submitted by email. Photos and images should be submitted as JPEG, GIF, or TIFF images only. If submitted by regular mail, please submit text copy typewritten without corrections and photos/images that are clear and appropriate for scanning. 

Advertisements: are accepted for publication in Chronicles at the discretion of the editor. Personal and Family Finder-type advertisements are $6 for the first 25 words and 25 cents for each additional word, but are free to JGSGP members. Appropriate, camera-ready, actual size, commercial advertisements are also accepted at a fee of $25 per 1/8 page. All of the aforementioned fees are on a per issue basis. Specify number of issues.
