Jewish Genealogy 101: Four+ Hours to Your Family Roots
Now in its seventeenth year, the Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Islands Family
History Workshop is a four plus hour course on sources and strategies essential for
Jewish Genealogy research.
Jewish Genealogy 101 is both:
An overview for beginners, many of whom are eager to learn about their roots but don’t
know where to start.
And
A review for family historians with some experience who want to brush up or expand
their skills.
The workshops expert instructors will explain where and how to find the Jewish records
which exist in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Participants will learn how to gather
and organize from:
Census
City directories
Ship’s manifests
Naturalization records
Vital records
And other important sources.
Lectures, accompanying illustrations and workshop manual will also cover:
