Uncovering Your Family History: the Jews of Sing-Sing and More! -- Sing-Sing, the notorious prison “up the river” from New York City, was home to more than a few Jewish inmates in its 175-year history. There are the famous Rosenbergs and a handful of gangsters, but many more. Perhaps one of those “black sheep” is in your family tree. Ron Arons will give us a glimpse of how Jews played an important role in the prison’s history, but also demonstrate the value of researching more than names and dates. According to Arons, focusing on how people lived, one person at a time, will lead us to a better understanding of their behavior and true family history.
