The California History Section has many useful statewide genealogical resources, including
- Indexes to deaths (1905-1993 or 1995) and marriages (1949-1986).
- City directories, phone books, newspapers, voter registration lists, etc.
After you search the vital records indexes, you can order records (by mail or fax) from the Office of Vital Records.
