The Jewish Family Tree Initiative: Workshop and Mentoring Series
NEW! 2009-2010 Schedule at Temple Sinai in Denver
Supported By
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Colorado will lead a second round of the popularJewish Family Tree Initiative: Workshop and Mentoring Series at Temple Sinai starting October 18, 2009. This eight-part adult education series is designed to engage newcomers to Jewish genealogical resources as well as those who previously started family history research but need a primer on the latest tools and repositories.
Supported by Rose Community Foundation and hosted this year by Temple Sinai, the Jewish Family Tree Initiative: Workshop and Mentoring Series serves as a foundation for the lifelong pursuit of genealogy. This program is open to the public.Jewish genealogy is a multi-generational family activity that celebrates Jewish life, learning and culture while exploring the past. It is an excellent way to learn about Jewish history and the religious traditions of our ancestors while documenting family stories.
Each two-hour session is comprised of an instructional lecture and a hands-on workshop to assist individuals with the creation of family trees utilizing genealogical resources and techniques. Educational topics are meant to stand alone as learning opportunities or as building blocks from one session to the next. Mentoring assistance outside of class will be available as part of the program.
