JGS Pittsburgh was organized in 1982 to provide a forum for and assistance to members interested in researching their ancestors. JGS Pittsburgh offers its members research techniques, informative lectures and teaches modern research techniques on and off the internet. We are a member of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies - more than 75 organizations Worldwide.

Beginning on  October 18, 2009 we will be having quarterly Sunday morning meetings with the Rauh Jewish Archives at the Heinz History Center.  At the October meeting RJA will hold an open house to review the Center's Genealogy related holdings.
