Joseph Joseph's Circumcision Register 1784 - 1834

Joseph Joseph was born in Plymouth in 1766. He performed his first circumcision when he was some 18 years old. Most of the circumcisions he performed were of members of his family or close friends.

b-i-l = brother-in-law.

KK = Kehillah Kedoshah [= the holy community of].

LF"K = according to the minor order of counting, ie omitting the 5,000.

SGL = Segan Leviyah [= Levitical excellence] = a Levite.

Z"L = Zichronam LiVerachah = May his/her memory be a blessing.

* = indicates the Hebrew letters Shin Bet [= She'er Besari]. These letters denote a relative of Joseph Joseph, though not all his relatives are so prefixed.
