Notes & Sources ( returns to text above)

  • (i) The congregation began styling itself as the Mosaic Masorti Synagogue a short while after it had joined the Mosaic Jewish Community (see below) in 2014, but it also appears to have retained use of its old name until at least 2018.

  • (ii) Mosaic Jewish Community's website, accessed 23 November 2018.

  • (iii) Reserved.

  • (iv) Mosaic Jewish Community's website, accessed 14 May 2023.

  • (v) Mosaic Jewish Community's website, accessed from 18 May 2018 through 2 January 2020. (The Jewish Year Book 2015 gave the congregation's address as 39 Bessborough Road, Harrow HA1 3BS, the address of the Mosaic Reform Synagogue, but this is believed to be just the administrative address.)

  • (vi) Congregation's former website.

  • (vii) From its first appearance in Jewish Year Books in 1999, the congregation was listed under the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues (AMS). In AMS's annual report for 2007 there is a note of the change of status (see note (xii) below).

  • (viii) Reserved.

  • (ix) Congregation's former website, accessed 10 February 2015.

  • (x) Congregation's former website. A profile of Rabbi Arberman, was on the congregation's former website, accessed 18 May 2018 but was no longer there as of 9 June 2018. Rabbi Arberman, BA, lived in Israel, spending one Shabbat per month at the congregation and as well as the High Holydays.

  • (xi) Listed as rabbi on the Mosaic Jewish Community's website, accessed 28 February 2022. Rabbi Natasha lead services at the congregation on average once a month, including the High Holy Days. Her successor was appointed in 2022.

  • (xii) Rabbi Anthony Magrill's profile on the Mosaic Jewish Community's website, last accessed 14 May 2023.

  • (xiii) Congregation's former website, accessed 10 February 2015.

  • (xiv) Reports on synagogue membership in the United Kingdom, published by or on behalf of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and which can be viewed on the website of the Institute of Jewish Policy Research. Click HERE for links to the various reports.

  • (xv) See links to Masorti Judaism's annual reports. Some of these figures show no change from the previous year, which seems unlikely and it is assumed that the current year's figure was not available and the previous year's figure was repeated. Also, these figures appear higher than the figures for the above reports and presumably include more than one member per household.

  • (xvi) Companies House website and Charities Commission's website, respectively, (both in beta trial stage), accessed 15 May 2018.
