Earlier Chabad Sheliach:

In 1988 Rabbi Shmuley Boteach was sent as the Chabad-Lubavitch shaliach (emissary) to Oxford, where, in 1989, he established the Oxford University L'Chaim Society which became the second largest ever students' society at the University. In 1994, he changed the society from a student society into an independent organization and later that year the relationship between the L'Chaim Society and Chabad was terminated. L'Chaim Society remained active until 2001.(ii)

  • The David Slager Chabad Jewish Student Centre, opened by the Oxford Chabad Society in 2006. It comprises a 2,100 square foot building at 61 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BQ, just off Cornmarket. The centre serves as a venue for Jewish student activities, including Shabbat dinners for over 100 students and lectures with ability to seat over 150.

  • The George & Pamela Rohr House, an extension to Chabad House, situated at 75a Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1HR. It contains a lounge and dining hall for Shabbat and festival dinners, as well as a place where students can relax and meet other Jewish students

  • Gan Oxford, a kindergarten and childcare service for children up to five years old.
