of Duncan Street, Salford, M7

Higher Crumpsall Hebrew Congregation
of Bury Old Road, Salford

Local Authority:

The congregation is in the City of Salford (as were its predecessor congregations). Since 1974, the City of Salford has been a metropolitan borough within the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester (the latter no longer having any administrative powers).

From 1889 to 1974, Salford was a county borough (a unitary authority), geographically (though not administratively) within the County of Lancashire.

Cemetery Information:

The Higher Broughton Synagogue was a joint owner (with the Central Synagogue) of the Rainsough Jewish Cemetery, Rainsough Brow, which it  subsequently shared with a number of other congregations.
